This will be my last post until next week. I'm going to Florida to visit my sister. She is flying with our mother to Texas, where mom will be living with our youngest sister.I finished my second pair of these wonderful pants. This time I used a drapey lightweight wool. I did not sew the pockets on this time either, nor are they lined. The pattern is very well designed. The seaming adds structure to a very drapey fabric and enhances it. I love how the tucks are placed to each side of the flat portion of the waistband. I used a more rigid elastic for this pair and placed it across the front without stretching that portion to give the drapy fabric structure. I stitched it in place above each tuck per the instructions, and the side and back portions stretch.
I love the look with this short, fitted jacket that is by Doncaster. I bought this at the Doncaster outlet in Black Mountain, NC last summer. This pant style will work with my short Now Shirts as well. I'll be wearing the linen/rayon pair with this jacket to travel in.
As always, there are more photos with details on my Sewing Workshop Trio Pattern Flickr Set.
Templates: Diane, to answer your question about the templates, I use folders - the kind you buy at office supply stores - and use a paper cutter to cut the exact width. I then label them and keep them in a manila folder. I replace them as needed since the deteriorate from the steam and heat of pressing.
Some style and design ideas: I signed up for e-mails and enjoy looking at what Isaac Mizrahi puts together for his moderately priced Liz Claiborne line and you will too. His fabric and color combos are super, always fresh and interesting. You will get ideas from many of his "looks" to apply to your own sewing designs and coordinate groups.

Hi Terri, love the new pants! I'll be starting on mine soon in black linen. Those will have pockets.
I agree that the templates are great tools. I make mine out of either manila file folders or posterboard, depending on what's handy. I punch a hole at the end and hang them from a ring.
Thanks for the recommendation of the Liz Claiborne site. I used to get the emails before Isaac joined them but I think I'll need to start them up again. He does have a great color sense.
Have a lovely time in Florida. Did you line the Trio pants?
They are nice pants. Did you make the jacket? If you did, what is the pattern?
